Excerpted from The Hill: Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) took to social media Wednesday to push his amendment to the Federal Aviation Administration Reauthorization Act, introduced last week, that would arm airline pilots in order to protect planes from being hijacked.
The Federal Flight Deck Officer (FFDO) program provides firearms training to certain flight crew members in order to defend against potential hijackings.
The Kentucky senator introduced the amendment as a standalone bill last year, but it never received a vote. Read the whole thing
